Campaign Files Finance Report
The
Committee to Elect Phil Bissett today reported to the
Maryland State Board of Elections that the Republican
candidate for Anne Arundel County executive has raised over
$140,000 in this campaign cycle and has a balance of
approximately $70,000 on hand after paying all bills.
"I am
extremely grateful and humbled by the outpouring of support
I've received from people from all walks of life throughout
our county," said Mr. Bissett, of Mayo. "We've got a broad
base to draw from as we move forward, and the momentum
continues to build."
Campaign
manager Diane M. Rey said the campaign has a vigorous
fundraising plan in place and has built a strong network of
grassroots support countywide. The campaign is expecting
several hundred people to turn out for its next big public
fundraiser, a bull and oyster roast March 23 at Michael's
8th Avenue in Glen Burnie. The campaign is also keeping up
an aggressive schedule of voter contact, she said.
Mr. Bissett,
a former chairman of the county's delegation to the Maryland
General Assembly, officially filed for the county
executive's race Jan. 3. The campaign plans to hold a public
announcement and supporter rally in the near future.
